What happen to the market this week?
Stock market is on the verge of new relief rally. It is hard to say how long this will last. On Thursday, the market staged a powerful follow through amid a Federal Reserve representative mentioned that it is possible that the Fed may stop raising rates in September if inflation has peaked. On Friday, the core personal consumption expenditures came in at 4.9% in April, which is lower than 5.2% in March. This lower consumption might signify that inflation may also come down.
The major indices turn out the best weekly performance this year.

Is stock market showing signs of bottoming?
As seen by the above performance, not only did the market indices not make a new low this week, but they had huge gains. It is most likely that a near term bottom has formed.

It is possible that this may be a definite bottom of this bear market, but it could also be a new bear market rally. Only time will tell. But for now, this market rally seems to be gaining some momentum as more stocks are being accumulated as shown in this article below.
What is the current support level?
All the indices recover above its 10 and 21 days moving average. This is a bullish sign. Next challenge will be its 50 days moving average.
- NASDAQ - below its 50 days moving average line near 13000; current at 12131
- S&P 500 - below its 50 days moving average line near 4300; current at 4158
- DJIA - below its 50 days moving average line near 33600; current at 33212
- RUSSELL 2000 - below its 50 days moving average line near 1940; current at 1887
Psychological levels
- Nasdaq is now above 12000.
- S&P 500 is now above 4100.
- Dow Jones Industrial Average is now above 33000.
- Small cap Russell 2000 is now above 1800.
